Default Ecu mapping licences for my99 t2000

Hi all is there a way to find out if my ecu has been previously mapped on my 99 t2000 I have never had one remapped and from what I understand if it's not been mapped before I need to pay for a licence??? I smashed mine up a few months ago stripped it and bought another onthe same year ( a v reg ) it wasn't until I striped the write-off I realised what parts where fitted I'd not had it long such as whiteline arb and drop links decat prodrive performance package etc but also the ecu was a sti one with pink stickers not the usual one I've seen before. Obviously I used the sti ecu and transplanted all performance parts over to the new car,

Can I ring ecutek with the serial numbers to check or is there another way todo it. Also does anyone have the contact number for ecutek or anyone else I could call

Many thanks in advance

The licencing is carried out on the ECU, which is left with an "imprint". You need an Ecutek dealer to do it for you. There are a few about on SN! It has to be done on the car, rather than stick it in the post!
The licence portion of the process is £150, which doesn't seem unfair considering they had to come up with the wherewithal to do this in the first place.
Once that's done, it can then be remapped by any other Ecutek dealer.

the ppp is a remapped ecu but it is not ecutek licensed so if you want to remap that its the same process. but most buy a std ecu for £40 get that ecutek mapped and then sell on the prodrive ecu for a couple of hundred to offset the ecutek price!

if you are keeping the td04 turbo it aint worth paying for an ecutek. prodrive will get you around 250bhp. an ecutek on a std ecu about 270bhp, so £550 odd for 20bhp aint really worth it imo

if you intend to use different turbo then ecutek (or other) remap on a std ecu is defo the way to go

yep same result whatever one you remap. but prodrive is worth more if you sell it on as is and buy a std ecu to remap.

What comes in the full prodrive package I have the intercooler piping the exhaust and ecu there is only the ecu on the car as I upgraded to a fmic and full decat ninja system if I was to sell it whT would it be worth I have the registration card too

£200 is the going rate for them on here for ecu alone, you might get a bit more on ebay, especially if you show you have the authenticity certificate with it

the complete ppp is ecu, metal Y pipe, and straight thru centre exhaust section plus prodrive/scorpion bacbox

then in that case sell all the ppp stuff and just get your std ecu mapped to suit will work out the most cost effective method

you'd probably get more money selling the items individually though more hassle posting packaging etc whereas you might get decent interest also in selling it as a full ppp kit and only one postage to deal with but prob bit less money, like £50 or so less id reckon. shouldnt have any issue selling though whichever method you choose

As above, I had prodrive ecu on my current car with samco Y pipe and scoobysport back box, I sold the ecu & y pipe to a guy in czech republic for £300,and used a E3 ecu and had the same mods as yours bar top mount and car made 316bhp
