Default Keys & Fob (again no doubt)

So i appolagise if this post has been done before i did a search but after half hour search, no joy..!

I have a my01 Bugeye has a subaru with a blue fob for central locking immobiliser and a key that also contains a push button for lock and open, but the key does nothing?

Any ideas...

mines the same on my bugeye, i was only thinking the other day why do they have they buttons on the key when supplied with the fob from new, will be interesting to hear other peoples thoughts

On my classic i just had a bare key and the fob, but find it really starnge why they would put a fob and buttons on the key?

Can you get an intergrated key?
