Default Silicone inlet - group n

Hey guys...

I've been able to get my hands on a good quality 4 ply silicon hose made to the same specification as samco.

I plan to fit this over the weekend together with a few other mods...

My question is am I going to have any problems fitting this under my inlet next to the power steering reservoir?

I will be removing the inlet manifold to fit.

Cheers

easy to fit with manifold in place, there are no take off for breather/DV etc though.

I know that's the whole group n setup, need to run a cath tank and dumpvalve-less...

I just think it's gonna be tight against the power steering pump :-s

Where did you get it from?

What makes you think it's group-n? It's the same as most intake pipes really.

The group n I mention is referring to the design, this hose was designed for a rally team based upon the group n hose.
The group n hoses have no outlets for breathers and dumpvalve return.

I know the hose is of top quAlity... And what the design was based.

I see Just it's the same as most silicone hoses without breathers to be honest, same as mine, minus the writing on it.

These silicone hoses aren't to be compared to the inferior ones such autobahn and eBay unbranded hoses which either dont fit or are so weak the suck themselves closed once you hit anything above 0.5bar...

Anyways back on subject does anybody see any clearance problems with the power steering pump?

Cheers

Mine is a lateral one, and doesn't suck shut at 1.7bar. I just don't understand why it's group-n? I'm not arguing or anything, just curious.

And no, there won't be any clearance problems.

Also, where did you get it from? As I'm after a new one with 76mm intake.

Because the company selling it say-so, so it must be true

Tinytim: as I've already stated it's based on the group n design and was specifically specially made for a rally team who intended to run their rally cars with mid-mounted Subaru engines. I know this because I have a close working relationship with the specialist hose company.... Not because they "label" it as a group n hose.

Chris. The lateral hoses are old hoses ;-) the eBay specials and autobahns I was referring too... 1.7bar I'm jealous... I'm stuck with 1.5 lol!

The retail on these hoses was around the same as the lateral hose, however I managed to get one cheaper.

I have another 5 which I can sell but these are standard inlet sizes only, not 76mm.

You should have no problem fitting that due to having no vent valves on it .My original samco unit has 4 vent pipes coming off it and i managed to fit that comfortably without taking off the inlet manifold.I did however have to slacken off the power steering pump & move it slightly to the right to allow it access under the inlet manifold ,but you should not have this issue if the inlet manifold is already off.

It can't be group N as you aren't allowed to run induction kits in that class. It's standard air box only!

whos said anything about induction kits??? it's just a reinforced silicone inlet hose runnign between the airbox and turbo....

i know of 3 rally cars who compete, which run very similar hoses (made by a well renound company)

anyways.. lets keep on subject.

thanks for letting me know about fitment... i'd best get a catch can now ;-)

As said by op ,the induction hose does not have to run to a induction kit ,it can run to std airbox like mine below.

Collapsing under boost is just one of the problems...
Fittment problems is a more common problem, from what I've seen people have bad to butcher the hoses as they are too long and also be breather inlets are usually poorly pressed in.

My mate bought an autobahn hose and could not get it to fit!

Idle control valve on a 99 is a different setup...
