Default boost problems when driving in the rain?

Sometimes when it rains i cant hit full boost, sometimes on very damp days aswell. At its worst it gets to 0.5bar and cuts out, splutters, some times the engine light flashes on. other times it will get to 1.0, and normal dry days it boosts fine to 1.5.
I was thinking it could be something to do with water getting into the k&n through the mini vent and playing up the MAF but it looks and feels dry to me, or even a fuel problem but cant see how rain could effect it.
Im running Power FC, full de-cat, 255pump, FMIC+cone filter, JGM remap.
Anyone had or heard of this sort of problem before? Any advice welcome. Thanks

my wifes wrx did exactly the same, the induction and maf sit under the mini scoop so is prone to wet gettin in , all that i did to cure it was smear Vaseline on the connection to the maf and if we are in for a lot of ****e weather i put the back plate on the scoop hope this helps

Thanks for quick replys. Say it was raining and playing up one night and i park up it would be better in the morning 'if it was sunny'. I could blank the mini scoop to see if that helps but i like the idea of the extra cold air getting it.
I also need a new induction kit mine is well passed it, any idea what type of cone would be better mesh, foam, i was looking at the green HKS mushroom one. Im thinking the foam type might help with my problem.
alspider- did the vaseline trick work for you?
