vf34/35 or 16g?
Having to replace my turbo on my v1 wrx
what's the best out of the three and why?
Im after a target of 340-350bhp but want a responsive road car so spooling and holding the boost is key.
any suggestions is greatly appreciated guys as looking to get one now.

34/45 whichever you can find in good nick that is cheaper
34 produces a bit more top end
35 slightly better spool because of the p15 exhaust housing
Many people eroneously think that the 34 is the better spooling because of the rolller bearing design. It isn't!
There is little between them really. Both are cracking turbos for a 2litre car. Got 337bhp and 343lbs ft out of my 3f35 with appropriate supporting mods.

Nothing wrong with a 16g, will do the power your looking for and spools nice and quick, from arond 2500/2600 rpm, plus strong enou to run without dump valve should you wish, vf wont do this comfortably

34 is roller barring which is a better design as is stronger.
I've had both 35 and 34 in the past and personally prefer the 34, but now have a td05 18g and that blows both those other tubbies out the water

I sugest the VF34/35 are 330 bhp turbos; expect around that and be happier if the figure turns out higher.

if you dont want the noise just put a recirc on, running none is pointless.
vf35/v34 will all be wrong fitment as standard.
but as far as what turbo, if your buying new SC36 is best of the lot and all around the same price, if you buying second hand then you can pick up a vf35 for a few hundred quid.

You'll most likely find the VF35 cheapest. Good ones can be had for £300 easily
SC36 the one to go for if you dont mind spending more - they're new, so not many floating around and they will command more 2nd hand. How much do you want to spend.
Runing no DV, if anything, will help with lag between gearchanges, but on MAF based ECUs can produce reversion artefacts (I know this from experience). If you have the std ECU and don't have to lose the DV, don't would be my advice.
It's a lovely noise though - and if you've got a set up that will tolerate it, I'd recommend it!

The VF43 off an 07 STi is a lovely little turbo. I sold mine a while back - will cost you more than £300 though!!
