Default Replaced Filler Pipe

Well I finally got around to replacing the rotten fuel filler pipe on my classic. Took about an hour, a couple of knuckles and a socket set.
A simple enough job for those of you that may be considering it, in fact the hardest part was sourcing the replacement pipe

old and new, the old one was mostly chemical metal on the bend to keep me "safe" till I got the new one.

The new one has a slightly different top so I guess its off an import, hence the almost spotless condition

where you not tempted to paint it or powdercoat it so that it lasts as long as possible?
