Default Knock, slap or normal? Bionic ears please!

Hey all, could those with mechanics ears take a listen to this and give your opinion of any issues you hear? Appreciate it cheers! It's a pre-facelift wagon, no mods other than a major sarcasm chip.

hydraulic lifters? tappets?

what oil are you using?

that sounds to me the same as mine - pistonslap. forget about it.
mines been like that for ages.

What are we listening out for? I cant hearing anything untoward, maybe small noise of tappets and injectors maybe...

on there cold start part if you listen you can here a light grumble if it goes when its warmed up it'll be p,slap. hold it at 2grand when warm mate then listen, thats when i realised the bottom end had gone on mine there first time

Cheers for the suggestions, I suspected slap but wasn't sure so though I'd check what you guys thought! @ Scooby for life cheers good link, had seen it but will study it further
Out of curiosity how long a job is it to do the valve clearances! Cheers folks

Actually using a 15 50 fuchs/Silkolene, might go thinner ...
