IMHO it ain't gonna damage your engine. I've run one for at least 50000 miles on my classic with no problems. Yes it uses a tad more fuel but **** all really. Even with a re circ yor not gonna use that fuel as you've throttled off hense the re circ operating and the re circ'd fuel/air will be drawn in and pushed out on the exhaust stroke. I have no running problems. They DON'T cause bore wash cuz the excess fuel thats drawn into cylinder is then pushed out on the exhaust stroke hense the pop in the exhaust.

Don't forget the engine is spinning at generally 2000+ RPM when the dump valves open but also the exhaust valve will be opening a few times once you've throttled off as well

Well, there you have it:the expert's view.

Nothing to add, really.

Except that HE won't be paying for any damage that happens to YOUR engine, will he?

I've got a forge VTA, and had no issues, it was mapped with it on and ask mapper and he said it fine, and running very well.

At the end of the day its your car, and up to you if you put one on or not. Theres pros and cons with everything.

Just enjoy the car.

Just like I've not had to pay to repair mine with 113000 on the clock and still going strong

Hi

Just a bit of advise really !!

I have had my hawkeye remapped with a turbosmart vta dump valve fitted (my sons idea) but now I have had enough of the pssst etc everytime i change gear

My question is if i put the recirc valve back on will it upset the mapping the car has had or will it be ok ?

Please advise because the pssst is getting on my nerves

Thanks once again

Depends on the mapper and what, if any, changes he made to accomodate the d/v.

Best to ask him, rather than on here, otherwise you'll get 101 answers, each one different
