jack it up 1 wheel ata time spin th ewheel and listen , if its wheel bearing it will be more of a rumbling sound and you might feel some play in the wheel, a trapped stone will squeal like a pig, and brake pad will sound like metal against metal plus if you look through wheel at caliper you should be able to see state of pad left

i had squeaking coming from back wheels and have replaced all the brakes front and rear no more sqeaks it must be a warning that you are getting to the last bit of the brake pads material and get it changed pronto...

On my rear pads I had a little metal marker that scraps the disc when low. It could be that

Hi mate I'm not that clued up on the earlier STI but I went back to a standard pads as I don't rag the car and it still brakes so well but mine has Brembo's. .just because you have a lip on the disc doesn't mean you have to change then! so get them checked by a garage you TRUST not somewhere like Quick Fit as they will tell you they need doing even if they don't.
If you do decide you need a change I would have a look at Godspeed/Aztec grooved discs with Kevlar pads great price and get good reviews.

You never know but it could be something that is stuck. I had something similar to what you're describing ubt it went when I threw a load of water over it, of all things.

Is the noise coming from the front or back? Could be a number of things tbh. I put up a thread a few weeks ago as i had a irritating squeak/creaking noise coming from the front. when pulling away mainly but also turning. i thought it was the cv joint but it turned out to be the wheel bearing was really suprised as it didnt sound as though it was a bearing noise lol
