Default How difficult is it to get power from an sti5?

Hi all, i have a sti5 type r and was wondering what mods i would need in order to achieve the figures in the next sentence. I previously owned an evo 7 running 356bhp and 353 lb ft torque and was wanting similar power figures from the scoob to see how it compares.

Within the next few weeks the car will have a full 3 in exhaust system with the original headers and up pipe wrapped and ported. It will also have a sports panel filter and an apexi power fc and commander ecu unit.

What sort of power can i expect from this and what will i need on top of this? Simple stage 1 from the evo gave huge gains but from what ive read, its rather difficult to extract reliable power from the scoobies

Any insight or advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks for looking

You'll need:
ECU + mapping
Injectors (550's+)
Larger intercooler (newage sti or front mount)
Fuel pump
Bigger turbo
better exhaust
Possibly headers
Air filter/ induction kit

At that level you're around the limit of the gearbox. However, with the Type R's low ratio gearbox it makes for a rapid car.
