Default Anodising Turbo compressor cover housing

I want to sort my TD05 out soon, looking to do a front entry conversion on the housing.
I thought about going for some DIY anodising, but hear it increases the overall thickness of the item being anodised. Now, surely that would be a problem with it fitting.

Anyone done it?

anodising will slightly increase the overal thickness but by a tiny amount
proberly be fractions of a mm mate i used to plate items and it is a thin covering

Anodising is the conversion of the surface to Aluminium oxide and increases the surface thickness by a matter of microns

Thanks for the replies, gents.

Not really seen any anodised housings on here before. Or have I not looked hard enough?

I don't see any advantage in anodising the turbo cover apart from making it look nicer so I guess most people don't bother............

I've got potentially 3 housings, current td04, td04 FE converted, and another I'm going to attempt to convert. So thought I'd have a go at the anodising, as it doesn't seem too hard, and I like to try things like that. Chrome plating seems a bit out of my reach at the moment, not that I'd do that on a housing anyway.
