0-40 is a bit thin for a Scooby....you would be much better of with a 10-40 or 10-50.

You should have asked on here before you bought that oil!
Ideally you should be using something like a 10w/40 especially in the warmer weather, certainly no thinner than a 5w/40

10w40, 10w60 or 15w50. 5w30 is far to thin

Fully synthetic. Millers and Silkolene are popular on here.

I thinks newage use /30 or /40 whichever you prefer subaru recommend /30.As far as i know if you have 0w oil its no thinner than say 5w or 10w its just more usable in very low temperatures which we dont have over here.

If you want semi synth then 10w40, if you want fully synth then a 5w40.

It's because 5w-30 is the standard choice for your car andyou'll find there are plenty of Scoobys that have run it without issues. A 5w-40 is also absolutely fine for your car. You'd only need to go for something like a 10w-50 if it's heavily modified. A lot of subaru owners/tuners think that the engine needs a really thick oil, but can never provide any reason why.
