Cat back is generally not a problem to the cars running. Induction kit is definately not recommended however, so stick to your panel filter. In terms of performance a remap is the only way to extract decent amounts of power!
Hope this helps,

why not get it mapped on the stock exhaust and dont bother spending on the cat back or induction kit probably wont be that much more expensive.
my sti5 on its stock exhaust and DP made 319bhp after andy forest mapped it.
Unless that is you want a louder exhaust an are happy with the power - if so forget what i just said!!

Sounds impressive ginger321 . is that on a standard engine? what ecu did you use?
I have a sti5 that i am looking to get mapped but it has a sports panel filter and a 3" decatted exhaust turbo back. Would i be looking at around the same figure aswell?

my last sti 5 had a sports catted downpipe and a 3" hks hi power and made 334bhp and
the 311lbs of torque plus the panel filter and walbro that my current one has.
ok ive lost out on the top end gains that the exhaust gave me of 334 vs 319bhp but i got the same torque nearly 600rpms earlier than with the big bore exhaust plus im saving on ear plugs as the sports downpipe an hks exhaust was wayyyyyyyyyy too loud for me
Just mapped via ecutek on the stock ecu

Its the induction kit that would be the worry. Most lean the car out to such an extent as to make them run iffy at best and very dangerous to the engine at worst.
Stick to the panel filter if you are not wanting a remap - there are no gains to be had on a bug wrx with induction kit over a good panel filter anyway so save your money

Agreed, you don't always get the answer you want, or written quite as politely as you might want.
BUT: take into account that a) these are human beings typing the answers, who MAY have had a bad day, b) some of us have typed the SAME answer many, many times, and often had derision poured on us for saying what we do, and c) you might have got a quicker answer without the strop by doing a quick ten minute search on here.
HTH.

sounds like you were the one having a strop bud? im a n00b as well and these forums are invaluable for us guys just starting out. guys like yourself with a wealth of knowledge are a god send in answering questions but if u arent in the mood to answer because of a bad day at the office or whatever why bother at all? plenty of other knowledgeable guys responded politely.
