vin/model confusion - please help

Question vin/model confusion - please help

I have just brought a impreza but theres something puzzling me, the model code is gc8fk8d so according to the info i have found online the F stands for my99 but my car is registered as a 97 on the logbook, please help as im confused lol

heres the registry info i found online from the full vin number:

Name: Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd
Address 1: 10-1 Higashi Honcho Ota City
Address 2: 373 Gunma Pref.
Address 3: Japan

Hi mate my old type r was GC8E2DD which was a 1997 but model code said 98 I wouldn't worry about it cross over year that's all

cheers for replys, so what turbo, size injectors does mine have as standard, im thinking about blanking off my annoying baileys dump valve and heard this was ok to do but only on certain turbos

I have a standered recirculating dv to fit straight to your intercooler to get rid of the baily s as for turbo should be a tdo4 .

thanks for the offer but i am totally skint at the moment or i would have taken that, from what i have read i can run my td04 dv-less without causing any damage, is this correct, sorry for all the questions but im a noob as they say lol

p.s what version is my car then, i take it its a my97 but what version as in v3 v4 v5 etc

no TD04 is not very strong hence the use of the BOV by subaru...get yourself an OE BOV ASAP

i think ill keep the baileys on untill i can get a standered recirculating dv then
