Default Syvecs ECU CEL?

Hi guys,

Had a CEL come on a couple of times on a track day at Brands Hatch last night, each time it went out after about 20-30 secs having eased off slightly, there were no other signs of an issue, the car didn't appear to have pulled any timing and all other parameters looked ok (oil water etc.)

The ECU has both intake temp sensors and Wideband fitted along with running AVCS on a WRX (2002)

I have the Syvecs software on my laptop - is there anyway to access the log files to find out the cause of the CEL

Yep - stayed on after changing and slowing, looks like mines set as a knock warning

Уоu should ask your mapper what function he has assigned to the CEL output pin. Typically that would be shift light or knock warning light.

When Pat mapped mine he said CEL could be shift light or Knock warning, I went with the later. It was set to come on if more than 4 degrees timing had to be pulled, ie a lot.

Mines the Knock - not sure what the threshold is, I'm thinking it's the I/C pipe work knocking as my mounts are shot!

IMHO you should call Pat and double check knock control settings.

You can also log knock, then download and review the log files once you see CEL light again to see what is actually happening.

P.S. Sometimes a gear change can be interpreted as knock.
