Startor Motor sticking

Startor Motor sticking
It all happens at once LOL
anyhoo, went to start the car this morning, and click.
hmm, battery flat, so undo window while turning car over, window went down fine, hmm, battery fine.
ignition key turned,click,again,click.
great.
so,i quickly turn the key on/off/on/off/on/off then click chuck turns over and starts fine, sweet.
so i redo the procress, turns over fine, ah,cool, maybe just a bad moment.
few mins later,tried agaon.click,bugger
then turns over fine
So,i presume the relay is working hence the click so the motor is jamming/bushes worn
so i remove the startor motor, the bit that engages onto the ringear pulls out fine but when turned i can feel a little grounchiness etc.
so,while its out,anything i can lube up ?
or replace the whole thing ?
i do have a startor off a my00 sport,but its totally different,typically
cheers

Was thinking about using grease myself, my guess was that the starter motor had dried out due to the heat hence the sticking.
Let me know how it goes mate. And also if you find the cause of your petrol pong lol!

LOL,yeah,will let you know.
Thing is, it isnt a unit that needs lube etc, its all pretty much a dry unit, the motor etc, windings etc, shouldnt need any lube.I only lubed up the solenoid parts but they are not the problem, its the motor not engaging once the solenoid has shot the gear out.
looking inside the motor, the brushes looked pretty low,i couldnt gain alot of access,i could if i didnt need the unit, but need to refit it this afternoon to get home LOL
cheers
