Hey guys just been out in the car did a bit of spirited driving all was fine until i slowed down, then it just wont boost, it revs round fine and it goes upto 5psi on the gauge but no higher, i had a quick look under the bonnet and the boost valve is fully open under tickover, but as I've never paid any attention to it I don't know if this is correct.

If anyone could shed any light onto it this would be appreciated.

Whats your impreza? Classic, newage, wrx, sti? boost valve as in dump valve?

tell us the spec of car and we should be able to help. Could be a number of things.

 

hello, its a classic uk turbo on a 2000 completely standard power wise, and yeh i meant dump valve sorry.

 

Hello karlos, is it a bailey dv? i had the same when i had a bailey dv. Basically all the dirt and grime gets onto the piston and after a period of time the piston doesnt close the valve off and stays open. Sounds like you have experienced the same, when you boot it theres no boost due to valve being open. I overcame the issue by replacing it with the standard recirculating valve until my HKS SSQV arrived

 

Hello 0victory0 it is a bailey dump valve, strangely enough it came to work in it today and it wasn't boosting for about 4 miles then the last mile i did it was working perfectly again, i dunno if you experienced that?
