Question Steering on full lock or turning = whinning!

any help on this peeps would be great! not sure if something needs oiling r topping up or is it going to be costley? power steering pump? i tightened the fan belt a tad no difference something was still whinning on full lock.. also on a cold start if i try to turn the steering wheel in any direction suddenly it starts to shake.

have you checked the ps fluid level?

nope not yet - will check this later-on today (if this is the case) anyone know what fluid i should be topping up on a STI v7 (Bugeye) - ie. can i get it easy from a Halfords etc..

cheers - did you have the same symptoms with yours? whinning/shakey steering on a standstill?

Little whinning on full lock, no shaking though.mine was just registering on the bottom of the dipstick. mine is an My00 classic
p.s. there are 2 marks on the little dipstick for hot and cold checking

my powersteering fluid holder does not have a dipstick in it - just markings outside showing its on the full level as its see through... any ideas what might be causing the whinning now?=(
