To prevent things becoming to tricky, if your fitting the 93 gearbox you will have to use the diff out of the 93 aswell. With the 93 loom you will need to use the 93 clocks etc.

Is the 98 a full car or just a shell? If it's full car with a blown engine, the easiest way would be to use your 93 engine, which will bolt right in, but fit the 98 heads on it so the wiring is correct.

Thanks for the reply, The car is missing the engine / engine loom / Ecu / gearbox and diff,

But I'm not sure whether to sell my94 and start again by buying all the bits and replacing themon the 98.

ideally I would have liked to use my engine and running gear as I know it's all good ????

If you did that you could also whack on the blown STi 3 motor's (presumably it'd invariably be a busted bottom end?) better breathing heads/inlet manifold, etc. This would also allow you to go front entry to the turbo, etc.

But you can still use your 93 inlet manifold/ancillaries on the STi 3 heads anyway (if you couldn't be arsed to do all that).

But, by at least fitting those heads, then you can realise the power of your forged 93 motor, by exploiting the STi 3 heads' <=500bhp capability!

But gearbox/clutch another issue of course...

If you plan on using the complete 93 drivetrain, then yes it will all bolt straight in. The 93 loom wont fit the 98 instrument cluster, although your 93 clocks will fit in the dash, so that's minor. And the 93 intercooler wont line up with the 98 bonnet scoop ducting. But that's just a good excuse to go front mount if your not already.
It will all be plain sailing really.

Thanks for the input debbiesonic much appreciated, I think I will have to go down that route due to funds at the minute, I can always get the 98 loom and all the other bits at a later date, just means that I might have to pull the engine out again to fit the later style heads, manifold, turbo ???

The reason behind this Is I have been buying the later style bits like the bonnet, P1 style bumper, later boot with carbon fibre STI spoiler and a few other bits for mine but the car they are coming off is sonic blue and mine is silver which wasn't a problem I would have just painted the bits silver, but the guy offered me the shell and I thought it might be a good idea to have a later car all together ????

We will see,

I will keep you posted
