Car running like a dog
MY98STI keeps jumping on idle. when i start it seems fine until it gets upto temperature. ALso when started from cold i get a fair bit of smoke from the rear but it clears up straight away. Is this anything to worry about?
RIght now back to the lumpy idle, i have cleaned the IACV valve, still the same, checked the MAF, thats defiantly working. Now i got suspicion it could be the coolant temperature sensor, where do i find this and how do i check it?
Or any ideas what else to check for lumpy idle?

The coolant temp sensor is in the metal pipe that runs over the block, the top rad hose joins to it, if you look at at your engine from the front of the car, its behind the inlet manifold on the left hand side, at the back.
