Default Rattling Noise from boot area? Driving me insane!!

Hey,
Not the usual flowing topic...
I have a Impreza GB270 wagon, I have and have always had a rattling/ noise from the boot region! I was just curious to see if anyone else had found and cured the same problem...?
I know I am not alone in this, I have been in a friends sports wagon (my01)
and he too... has the same noise!

At first I thought it was the parcel shelf...s
But I have driven the car without the shelf in, and the noise is still there!! lol

Please somebody put me out of my misery!!
Anyone else had the same problem? or cured the same problem?

I am a newbe so go easy on me hehe However your thoughts and comments are greatly received!

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Its definitely a sound from inside the car...
I haven't tried the jack, However I have checked to see if it was tight!
I would almost describe it as a plastic kind of rattle... lol I know I sound mad when I say that, However its the only way I can describe it... he he

I've tried shaking the boot lid aswel to see if I could hear anything, but nothing!

I've just picked up me hawkeye sti about a month ago & I had a really annoying rattle over every bump in the road. Thought it was the shocks but it turned out to be a rattling bootlid! Insulation tape around the boot "stay" did the trick.
Give it a go & good luck.

WOOO HOOOO...

right, Jack wrapped and taped... + Sponge...
towel underneath and tightened down spare wheel...
Wrapped wheel brace and other tools...

Taped the boot stay with self amalgamated tape (rubber)

With all the above, JOB DONE!!
successful test drive...
