Sorry dude but you will need to be a LOT more specific than a 'grinding noise' and 'knock' if you want help/suggestions

Without wanting to be the bearer of bad news, Thats what mine did, turned out to be crank bearings, hence current rebuild going on

Yeah power was still there, like u say under full load you dont here it but espicially if u rev under the bonnet with the throttle cable gently u can hear it, mines having a full rebuild at the moment, havind cossie gaskets and acl race bearings which should hopefully make it reliable for a good while now!

I must say though I ran mine like that for a good 3 or 4 months with the boost upped to 16-17psi with a dreaded bleed valve and gave it a lot of stick and it still never missed a beat, only decided to get it done because I thought its gotta go pop sometime!!!

Is there any way you can record it and put the sound up,its also possible you have a noisey water pump,in which case if it siezes it snaps your cam belt

Don't want to alarm you but getting heads done without bearings often leads to bearings going soon after.

alcazar, does that mean you've had 2 separate incidences of a bottom end going (the other being ragging away from that tollgate in France in hot weather)????
