What oil to use?
I have a 1994 Subaru impreza wrx, what oil should I use? I know I've got to use fully synthetic but what number as in 5-40, 5-30, 10-40 ect? and what make? plus is it worth upgrading the filter like a K&N oil filter or just stick to standard?

Yes its what subaru recommend, shell helix 10w40 semi synthetic, though any good 10w40 will suffice, remember you have short service intervals on these cars and your engine is 17 years old now, its bound to have a bit of wear in it.

A main dealer who serviced my car from new (not that says much these days
) told me all new Imprezas were serviced on Helix 10w 40 from supply.
