Default putting 02 sensor in uppipe or downpipe

I've a 1998 turbo 2000 with a panel filter, and de-cat downpipe and prodrive exhaust system, i want to up the boost next so my next step is a ecu as i know the my98 cannot be played with. My worry is THE CURRENT AFR's, so i'm fitting a innovative lc-1 but i dont think id get the correct readings in the uppipe so needs to go in the down pipe, now the std narrowband is in there at the moment, can i not move it over to the up pipe before the turbo? as am i right in thinking that subaru fitted some cars with them there?

so question is: can i put my narrow band in my uppipe and my wideband in my downpipe for a more accurate reading?
