Yeah, useful piece of software, especially for my MY93, as SSM and Evoscan are the only 2 compatible for me.

Via the OBD?
I asked a question in the electronic forum yesterday, about whether pre-97 have an OBD. Someone told me they do not.

Yeah, as above. A yellow 9 pin socket near the green and black diag connectors.

I made my own cable, how to here

And you can download SSM from here.

Its on the second link as a OBD-I, and has the same functions. So if you wanted to, could it be converted to an OBD-II socket?
Apologies if thats what you have done, but I still can't get the PDF link working for me, so can't confirm if thats what you mean. I'm on works US servers, maybe its that, will try it later.

See here,
S/w is compatible on SSMI/SSMII/OBDII and Canbus.
You just require the correct cable.

I do have a SSMI to OBD converter, but these are not compatible as SSM and OBD use different language to communicate. I have been through this with some very knowledgeable people, and the SSM cable and SSMI or Evoscan software are the only compatible combination for the pre MY98.
