I asked a question in the electronic forum yesterday, about whether pre-97 have an OBD. Someone told me they do not. my 96 import has the yellow 9 pin obd port. |
|
So it does have and OBD, but its the yellow 9 PIN one. thanks
The link to make the cable doesn't work. |
To be correct, No. It has Subaru Select Monitor.
The link works for me http://www.alcyone.org.uk/ssm/usbhowto.pdf |
sod making that cable....
is this the right software as its listed for OBD2? http://www.evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-o...oscan-software |
Its on the second link as a OBD-I, and has the same functions. So if you wanted to, could it be converted to an OBD-II socket?
Apologies if thats what you have done, but I still can't get the PDF link working for me, so can't confirm if thats what you mean. I'm on works US servers, maybe its that, will try it later. |

S/w is compatible on SSMI/SSMII/OBDII and Canbus. You just require the correct cable.

See here, S/w is compatible on SSMI/SSMII/OBDII and Canbus. You just require the correct cable. I do have a SSMI to OBD converter, but these are not compatible as SSM and OBD use different language to communicate. I have been through this with some very knowledgeable people, and the SSM cable and SSMI or Evoscan software are the only compatible combination for the pre MY98. where did you get your cable from though as the only cable i have found are the best part of £20.00 |
so glad i asked this........got all the parts from maplins today cost £9.50 going to give it a go this week so will keep this thread going.
