Oil additive? you mean like slick 50?
On the other hand if you mean what oil? whats your mileage and what sort of oil has been used before?

Don't use oil additives, they are either harmless, but a waste of money or there are a fair few that can be harmful to the engine.

best addative is a good owner who regularly changes the oil :|

I've only had the car a week,was stolen recovered , 2002 with 39000 mile

It's not. A couple of their oil treatments are just oil thickeners, so they slow oil consumption and all the other things they claim by making the oil really thick, too thick to give good protection.

Have the oil changed to something like a 5w40 fully synthetic or a 10w40 fully/semi synth.
