Default Roof Bars bike rack - pics?

I'm considering a hawkeye soon and wanted to know if roof bars can be fitted for mounting a bike rack on

So, if you have any pics or can say yay or nay for if this is possible, thanks very much

Here's my classic with them on so we know where we are

How cool colour coded too Is that a Thule box?

Great pics thanks.

I'm wondering if there's any system which uses the rails in the roof, or do you have to go with a similar system to the Thule of the feet sitting on the edge?

Very good post, but your set-up (like the one I have now on my classic) is based on integral roof bars which the rack system mounts onto.

I haven't seen these on many new age, including the hawkeye. Can these be added?

I think the one that uses the gutter system on the hawkeye is a Mont Blanc one but im not sure
Yes mine is a Thule box and bars
there's a good web site called Skydrive, check them out, or you might have to go to Subaru direct to see what they do, but be prepared to pay through the roof

I have the Mont Blanc roof rack. You fasten little clamps round the roof rail mounting points that are hidden underneath the gutter strip. You can then clamp the roof bars that go across the car to these. You leave the little clamps in place all the time and just put the bars across when you need them.

But I don't like the system and would rather have something like my Legacy Tourer - it has the slightly raised gutters with plastic panels which you pop out which then exposes the roof rail mounting points. You then bolt your Thule rack to these mounting points with a couple of bolts for each foot. It is a much better system because it is extremely secure.

Does anyone know if you can get replacement gutter strips that have flip out panels into which you can screw Thule feet?
