Default diagnostic machines/cable help please

Hi i have my abs light on and remember reading you can get a. Cable and software for your computer but just after a bit of advice exactly which cable i need i have a 2004 wrx uk spec and also need to know where to find the socket in the car

If you look on ebay you can get a u480 code reader to plug in for £20,not sure where your plug is as i have a bugeye

The plug is under the steering wheel in the middle of the plastics. If you run your hand down you should feel it.

Yes there spot on,they give you the faults plus you can clear old faults out of the ecu with them if there still stored.

That sounds like it will do what i need at the min but remember an old thread but cant find it that with the laptop cable it gives you access to more info than just fault codes?
