Hi All,
I am selling the below turbo TD05, for future reference how do you tell the difference between 16, 18, 20G etc

Which one is this, its from a WRX classic import (standard stock)

there was NO front entry TD05 turbos made for a subaru

thats a td05 16g with a front entry compressor cover, so it will fit a newage. the main difference visually between a 16g and and 18/20g is the size difference

yes there were, they just weren't made by Subaru... they were made by Mitsi

a td05 h and and a td05 16g is the same thing.

i say its genuine td05 16g cover as you can see where the up-swept intake pipe has been sawn off, what if any thing else has been done to it though i don't know.

I bought this TD05 from a member with a classic WRX import!
i removed the angled entry, and fitted a front entry to it, ready to fit to my own Bug eye to replace the standard front entry TD04!!
The photo shows the TD05 AFTER i have fitted the front entry to it!

I am selling it and been asked the question is it a 16G or18G ????

To find out you will need to take the compressor cover off and measure the exducer on the wheel. Give me the size and I will tell you what it is

It will be a 16g if it was originally an upswept one.

Standard fitment on all early Evos allbeit with different turbine housings and comp covers. These often get fitted with a bigger comp wheel hence the 18g 20g and even 25g which refer to the wheel. All have bigger exducers. However the inducer is the same size that is why you would need to take the cover off to measure it if you did not know the history of the turbo.
