is the car actually overheating , using water or have you just spotted a strange liquid and assuming its coolant?

sounds like you fixed the problem with the pipe and then got a air lock make sure your air is all out and hopefully it will be alright

If you are worried, get a garage to "sniff test" it.

I have a very similar problem - exhaust gases are leaking past the head gasket and pressurising the coolant. It only happens on my car on boost, a sniff test was inconclusive, as you cannot create boost when stationery.

The coolant is being dumped into the overflow reservoir as the radiator cap is only to relieve the excess pressure in the system.

After this has happened I get airlocks and you can see the coolant sprayed out of the overflow reservoir.

In my case I have a head gasket failure.

The redish liquid is prob anti freeze or rusty residue from the system which was moved when it got hot and built up pressure make sure theres no air in the system and see how it goes
