Default Speedo stopped working

I have a p reg wrx sti and the speedo needle has stopped working at first it was jumping up and down, now it doesn't move most of the time, it will jump up occasionally. The mileometer is still going up just the needle does not work, could anyone give me some advice as to what the problem is please.

If the mileometer is still counting up, then the cable and drive are still working so you will need to replace the speedo head i'm afraid.

As above, speedo head.
Fiddly job, but not too dear if you get a set of clocks off a scrapper.

I have a perfectly working early JDM clock binnacle, surplus to requirements. It's been fitted with a blingy laser cut brushed ally surround
