The questions I have are,the current owner says it's running a td05,is there any way of checking this, also is there any other mods that have to be done with this turbo
it's a turbo 2000,96 plate

If its running a td05 then it'll have either an aftermarket ecu, ecutek remap or scoobyecu style chip, these depend on what year the car is. If there's no mention of a remap then walk away. If it's a front converted td05 then you should be able to see where the front has been welded on.

I was always led to believe that the pre 97 cars had a TD05 fitted, weather theyre imports or UK. Mine is a MY95 UK and i have a TD05. And so do a few other people i know. They fitted the TD04 in 1997.

No, Op stands for original poster, which is you! It will have TD04 cast in the side if its one of them, not sure about the TD05 though!

As standard,
