Yeah, you need an adaptor that goes in place of the OEM FPR (remove it) at the end of the driver's rail near the turbo. You might have to remotely cite the new FPR, as it prob won't fit where the OEM one was. You then run fuel hose from that adaptor, to the inlet port of the FPR, at the side. On the bottom of the FPR is the return port to the fuel tank - use the existing return pipe, obviously. Then finally, pop the vac pipe from the IM onto the little port on top of the FPR.

On the front of the FPR should be a 1/8" NPT port to fit a suitable gauge for setting pressure. With vac pipe temporarily removed, turn the FPR's "pressure adjusting screw" so the gauge reads 3bar (OEM pressure) at idle. Refit vac pipe, and it should show around 2.7bar at idle.

But, can I ask, why are you fitting one?

Default fuel reg

Cheers for the reply that will come in helpfull. Im fitting one to run with my budget mods that im doing on my 96type ra, ive fitted 440's, fmic, td05 16g, walbro pump, hks mushroom with cold air feed, 3 port boost selenoid etc, and im looking to get the most from it. 330bhp ish. Which is gonna be the limit of the stock internals and short ratio box. Ive heard you can get a bit more from the 440's if youve got a fuel reg when getting her mapped. Hope this makes sense, im just trying to acheive the most i can but on a tight budget. many thanx, tim.

That's fair enough.

Yeah, 440s normally do c.325-340bhp, so the FPR should easily see you to your target 330bhp, so long as you up the base pressure to c.3.5bar, when setting it up. This should give you a bit of headroom on the injector duty cycle i.e. so the 440s won't be running near 100% IDC.

If you're not sure which port goes where on your FPR (based on my descriptions above), then post up a pic of it and we'll, hopefully, be able to point out what the various ports are for, etc.

Assuming your not going parallel and retaining the OEM "in-series" setup, then this helps illustrate it:-

...There's also obviously the fuel filter between the tank/in-tank fuel pump and the fuel rails (not shown in those illustrations).

Yes.

And that bottom one is the return to the tank.

Just 3 connections then: from rail (using an adaptor) to the side INLET port of the FPR; to tank from the bottom OUTLET port of the FPR; vac connection from FPR's top nipple direct to inlet manifold.

Basically its:-

Fuel tank/pump >>> fuel filter >>> rails (either feeding the front, or rear, cyls first) >>> FPR >>> return to tank

See diagram below. This setup shows the rear cyls. getting fuel first - inc. the most 'stressed' cyl.3 nr. the turbo - but it's a moot point as the fronts get it milliseconds later via the short rails:-
