Default Fitting STi Intake to Classic

Has anyone attempted to fit an STi intake to a Classic?

I want to retain the standard airbox but 'ram' as much cold air into it as possible.

Ideas anyone?

As above ,the intakes are all the same on classic cars whether it be a wrx, sti, or uk turbo .The only difference is the early cars had a top mounted inlet hose to the turbo, and the later cars had a front mounted inlet hose that passed under the inlet manifold.
Are you sure your not getting confused with maybe fitting an larger intercooler off a newage on to your classic instead .If it is the inlet hose you are thinking of changing then samco should be able to supply you with one ,they are expensive but are extremelly well made and will allow more air into your turbo than the std o/e unit.

STI/Prodrive Y-pipe is also another good upgrade over the std plastic item

Apologies for any confusion but I am not talking about the pressurised system after the turbocharger, but the air intake system to the air filter. I would like to know if anyone has fitted the large air inlet (Ram) pipe which I assume is from the later STi as below

Hopefully the image will appear if I have done this correctly!

No image as yet. Is it on the net? Or if not, do you have it hosted?

Mine has the standard (WRX?) small intake pipe as shown at the bottom left of the image located at this link: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur...w=1440&bih=685

Right, I see.

LOOKS like a straight swap to me. IF you can get one.
You may have to modify the bonnet front seal to make it worthwhile, though, you know, where the air comes in?
