Default Check engine help with Apexi picture

Hi, driving home today and my check engine light came on, when it's on this is what the apexi says:

is this the throttle position sensor, how long can I drive it with the light coming on?

Thanks

thats the throttle position sensor yes.

If you go onto that page with engine off and press the throttle and the voltage increases smooth up and down with throttle then the sensor is fine just needs adjusting slightly.

there are two screws on the side of it and you just need to loosen them and turn it a tiny bit until light goes out.

on the throttle body

check the voltage increases and decreases smoothly etc.. sometimes they get dead spots in and sometimes just break, the fact it says 0.26 not 0 would indicate that i suspect it is just slightly too low although I didn't think 0.26 was out of range for low value.. but see how you get on

tried it and it goes up smoothly , so when it is light I will have a look.

How do I know I have adjusted it the right way, what values should I be looking for?

I have a feeling it is 0.3volt as the value you aim for, been a while since I needed to adjust one but you will see the valuve increase as you adjust and until the light goes out etc..

it is often the case that it is very close to the limit and overrun sucks the throttle butterfly closed further and drops voltage illuminating the light.. it is only an annoyance it will drive like normal

The throttle body is the bit that the tmic pipe goes into?

Which bit has the screws, the sensor itself?

Thanks for your help Simon,

I guess, if the value doesn't go down, it may need a new sensor?
