I've just a bought a MY97 and was told the ECU would need resetting if I wanted to run it on Optimax / Super Unleaded. Does this need doing? Has anyone had it done / had problems running on Optimax without resetting the ECU?

 

ECU should reset itself automatically within a few tanks of fuel
There are other methods of forcing it by disconnecting battery etc I'm sure they'll soon be posted

Shaggy Melon's right leave it be. Not so sure with scoobys but on other cars disconecting battery for a period puts ECU into factory setup mode and then ECU has to adjust itself over a period. Same result more work!
