Default engine wont start

I have a 99 uk turbo having some engine trouble, the original engine was knocking so i got a 2nd hand engine and used that block and used the original heads, when i go to start the engine and it just turns over, gives a pop or 2 at first then nothing just keeps turning over doesn't fire up, the fuel pump works there fuel comin through, theres power coming through the ignition leads ive got new plugs the timing marks were all lined up, we checked the fuses there fine an the relays all read 0.10ohms after reading most threads everything seems to be pointing to the crank sensor but my mate thinks something might be up with the wiring the cam an crack sensor wires both read 15.0 ohms no voltage is this right? Do i try a new crank sensor or do i have a wiring problem?

has the belt been put on proper, set to the line & not the arrow mate.
a number of peeps have done this, inc my self :P

this would make the crank sensor out of time with the cam sensor.
and becouse the cams are set right, the valves dont hit the pistons but wont fire either
worth a check mate.

Ye i checked the belt is right there was almost a mistake by putting the timing mark to the arrow but we noticed the timing mark that turns under the crank sensor

i had this sprocket issue my self. put an sti v7 bottom end in my uk 95
never through about it. then when firing it up. nothing

the number of teech were to blame. if every thing was wired up proper, then the car should just fire up. id check for a spark on every point mate next. see if you have a spark
if so, then fueling, is it getting to the injectors. if you have a spark & fuel & the timing is all perfect, check all the other sensors out mate

Had almost the same prob myself after doing the engine. Sounded like it`d fire then nothing. Turned out my nearside inlet cam, where the sensor is, was 180 degrees out. Got the marks lined up wrong, sorted this and it fired straight away.

peeps can only go on what you put up mate.
so can give advice to that, if you say all the marks & points are right, and the fueling/sparking is there.

then really, its one of them baffaling symptons
is the maf in order

The car ran fine apart from it knocking so i cant understand whys its not working, theres no change apart from the new block and belt and gaskets. if the timing belt is the right one that ive set it to the only difference it the cam and crank sensor that came in the new block, but there's no voltage in the sensor wire just 15.0 ohm's we think either the sensors that came in the new block are faulty or theres a problem with the wiring coz of the high 15.0 resistance which we dont know if this is right or not an theres no voltage
