Default Engine Temps

Ive tried searching the forum but me not being very computer literate I couldnt find anything

I have a quick question, what are the normal operating temps of a 98 classic in degrees F

My dash gauge is reading normal as is just below half on the gauge but my extra gauge is showing 160f when sitting in traffic but 140f when cruising, it has never overheated and never go's above these temps I just want to know if this is normal or not.

I have tried to trace the wiring of the extra gauge as this was installed by the previous owner but have no idea where he has put the probe or which sensor he has taken the reading from.

Thanks Guys

I'm a happy boy then, I always thought 180f was high and was worried I had a problem
