I have a 3" exhaust system from the cat back to tailpipe and I am thinking of changing it to a 2.5 system(I need a quieter system as the neighbours arent happy at 6:00 am)
What i need to know is ,i take the exit at the cat is 2.5,so is it just a case of replacing the centre section and back box or could i just replace the back box.
My theory is there seems to be more secondhand 2.5 systems than 3"

yeah been done there but found that after a month or so it would slowly work its way loose and then sound crap

 

if you make your tail smaller it will sound less.. I have done that on my old 405 Mi16..

Providing your downpipe is 2.5 inches you should be able to change centre and back box together , as the blitz nur spec r is 3 inches and mates to a STD cat downpipe . If you want to just add a backbox to your current system you will either have to sleeve it or get a reducer fitted to take it from 3'to 2.5'

 

ok any idea where i can get a reducer or would it come built into the back box

 

Hi matey Nur Spec are noisiest exhaust,i have full 2.5" and still is loud,you can try centre pipe with resonator,which will bring noise little bit down
