Default newage jdm vs uk differences

I'll need a newage wrx wagon before too long to replace the jdm MY97 I've got currently. Apart from the mapping, are there any important mechanical differences between the UK delivery and the jdm wagons (and sedans)? Because it'd be nice to buy a UK model and simply have it remapped to run high octane and get the full 250ps out of it. If that's possible.

Any advice is very welcome.

What are you looking at? (as in year/model) as just saying jdm wagons isnt very helpful if you want a good answer back

something like a MY01 wrx wagon. This would do:

The GGA went from 2000-2002 didn't it?

thanks

Mechanically they are very similar, biggest difference is the brakes and ecu map, brakes are 2 pot/single pot on the jdm, 4 pot/2 pot on the uk.
