Default Cylinder head identifying

Evening All,

I've got some heads, I got with a car, as it had a slight big end issue, a spare engine was with it, but also had another spare set of heads, was now engine is all running ok, I have some surplus heads, whihc basically I'll sell, BUT im having trouble telling what version they are, so dont want to mislead when trying to sell etc, had a use of search on here, but struggling to find any info, the dowls for inlet are Level with the injector slots, whihc I think makes them Earlier style, but beyond that im not sure.!

Any top tips. ?

cheers

1 and 2s are basically the same same as 3s and 4s plus 5s and 6s

they do 2 models then same then change stuff, dont ask me why

just advertise them as v1/2 wrx heads, scooby owners will know which ones but i doubt you will get much for them tbh, v3/4 sti heads are worth a bit because of the valves, cams and uprated springs and solid followers

not really mate ppl go for the later ones on rebuilds ,you can get 500+ out of the heads but the earlier ones have the wrong follower set up and the ports arent as good

you can only try, you might get something for the ported ones

I think all the classic head castings are the similar, its the cams and valve gear that changes on the v 3/4 and v 5/6.

Do you have the cams to go with them or is it just the head castings and valves... Post a pic of the cams if you have any, that should make it clearer..

Going by the Valve codes, they are Version 1~2 Hydraulic heads you have there.
Should have Red colour coded valve springs @ approx 40mm in height.
