Default subaru turbo spluttering at low revs please help

Hi guys i have subaru impreza 1999 model. My problem is when im driving at low revs it starts to kangaroo and splutter , as i put my foot down theres nothing there it just splutters like its running on 3 plugs, then all of a sudden it will kick in and go till i change gear and go slow then it splutters and struggles again. I have cleaned my dump valve and that seems to b working fine. Today i have bought some platinum plugs, some ht leads and a new fuel filter but cant get them fitted till monday, could 1 of these b my problem.? Also its had a fault code check and not showing anything my CEL light is not on either. Any help would be great.

Sometimes it does not tick over probably, for instance when i rev the car the rev counter go right down to 300rpm and then goes back up till about 800rpm then its ok, so i would say if im correct the fuel filter is the cause of this.

Is it standard ??
Have you changed anything just before this has started to happen ??
Even though you havent got a cell on, it could still be a sensor starting to fail..
The tps has a small gauze in the manifold whick could be choked. If you can clean this you should do it as alot of people dont clean them regularly.
If you can get a maf from a mate that is the same as yours and in good working order i would advise you to try this first mate as the 99/00 cars have very fragile mafs and are a common fault..

Sounds to me like the MAF. Usually puts the CEL on but not always. Try unplug it while its running & see what effect it has. It will probably put the light on though when you unplug it.

When i unplug the MAF sensor the car keeps running is that normal m8, and the cel does *** on when i unplug it.

It is standard m8 and it does not splutter all the time just sometimes. I have not changed anything yet just cleaned the dump valve. If it was a sensor goin down wouldnt it show a fault code. When the car is runnung and i unplug the MAF the car keeps running is that normal.

Yeah, thats normal. But if it appears to run better when its unplugged then it points to a faulty MAF.

Right lads just done a fault code check with wires under steering column and it did 3 long flashes and 2 short ones, then it flashed 2 long ones and 3 short ones. Am i right in thinking theres 2 faults, 1. o2 sensor and Maf sensor.

The o2 sensor is not there but car as been decated is that right.? Is that why the code 32 is showing, and would not having a lambda sensor affect the maf sensor.?

Could well be mate but i am not an expert. Just stating a fact lol. With rough boost i wud say it is one off the following..... MAF or coil pack or spark plugs or air & fuel filters dirty. Low on oil? Overfilled on oil? Bad charge from the Alternator... Bad seal on dump valve... Split hose. Leaking inlet manifold....
Could be all of the above or none of them!!! Dont ya just love cars!
