After reading posts and the faq a couple of times, I am still not happy about fitting this myself. Especially the drilling of the device as described in the faq.

Does anyone know of anyone in the Preston area who can fit these devices.

Cheers in Advance

Question

Hi

What model is your Impreza ie Year etc?

I can't work out who you are from your user name, if you ordered it from us, there should be no reason why you need to drill the hole out.

Let me know, I'll try to help you out.

Jamie

Jamie,

Thanks for the reply, and thanks for the prompt mail back on prices on Sunday at 23.00hrs.

I have not yet ordered from you as of yet though, although will be doing possibly tomorrow, permission only just granted from she whom must be obeyed.

The drilling out to 1.5mm from 0.5mm I took from a site that seemed to give an authoritative view on the fitting of these devices. I still need however to get a boost gauge sorted, and also would like to get on the rolling road soon after the mods are made as I am paranoid about running lean / overheat / expensive damage.

Distance is a knacker as well, I am from Preston and there does not seem to be many dealerships short of well lane over at Batley and DR in Warrington close to hand, although I have had quick replies from a couple of local like minded folk.

My Dawes from Jamie came 1.5mm drilled, I'm sure they all do know.

You're right though, you do need a boost gauge before you fit it or you'll have no idea whats going on.

OK I look forward to hearing from you!

Big Turbo Imprezas (Pre 97) get a 0.5mm bleed valve whilst the newer smaller turbo models get 1.5mm.

Quick question about the Dawes mod....has anyone told there insurance company ? Can anyone advise me of how much a likely increase is please ? (I'm with privaledge btw)

So how much power increase on a 93WRX with standard sustained boost of 0.8bar ? up to 1.1 bar around 20-30 bhp ?

Cheers RRH,

Do the Southport dealers have a rolling road, diagnostics to check whether the engine is running lean / hot

Alex - I'm also with Privilege and they quoted me yesterday an increase of £110 for the dawes (manual boost controller giving 10% power increase is what I told them). As a side note - the increase is the same even if you add a down pipe into the equation.

Richard.
