Uneven acceleration
Hi People,
am grateful for any advice...
I have a 2002 wrx bug eye with ppp and no other mods other than panel filter. It has 90,000 on the clock and i LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
My motor does not accelerate smoothly from 2000-3500rpm. There are no pops - just "slight absences or jerks/hiccups" as I accelerate... at 3500 of course the turbo comes in and all is fine from that point onwards.
It's making the car tricky to drive - it's almost like a 2 stage acceleration, hiccup-hiccup-hiccup - WHOOSH!
I took it to a specialist and they could see the problem on laptop and we opted to have a new boost control solenoid that seem to resolve the issue but not completely.
I got a new set of spark plugs (to be fitted soon) and an oil change in next few days.
Any ideas people?
Many Thanks

my MY99 turbo having similar problem ( but only at high rpm on moterway) for the past year, changed spark plugs, boost solenoid, all the air hose, now the final suspect is the mid-pipe's cat. after the last MOT's failure on emission.( car have sport cat. downpipe and nur-spec s back box, only the mid-pipe is still original, so it might be time-up). So a centre pipe from RCM is on the list. Hope that will solve the problem.
