I changed out the whole system for a 3 inch cobra system inc downpipe, really quite loud now but I never wanted a quiet wrx though.

I thought the prodrive had a straight through centre pipe already?

Iv got a fully standard system except a cobra backbox, its a nice rumble but not stupid. (altho i did manage to set off some car alarms in a multi story last week lol

Holy internet crap Batman !

PPP WRX - Cat in uppipe, Cat in DP, DeCat in rear Centre Pipe, Silencer in centre Pipe, Back Box.

Get a straight through centre pipe without the silencer and it will get more burble, change the BB and you get even more

I had a PPP WRX and did the change over centre and BB will post a vid

I have a 2001 WRX which I bought 4 yrs ago with a Prodrive bbox already fitted.

I was going for more power rather than thinking about the sound. Fitted Ninja downpipe with sportscat plus H&S decat up-pipe, & decat & deresonated centre (remapped of course).

Despite keeping the Prodrive bb, burble and WOT sound were noticeably better, but not nutty and not drony on the motorway. Would think that on a budget, fitting a deresonated centre would open up the burble.

agree with above i fitted straight centre pipe on my wrx ppp and it sounded just right cheap to buy and no more exhaust worries as then was all stainless. try it then if you still want it louder a new backbox will be required
