DIY Cambelt Guide
Hi guys, I have just waded through several search result pages but cant find a link to a DIY guide / tutorial for the classic impreza cambelt change - its a MY2000 Uk Turbo if that makes any difference.
Can anyone provide a link please?
I'd be very grateful

Thank you!
My son is a mechanic and has done many belts but of course, he's never done an impreza! He just wanted a quick look and to pick up any Scooby specific tips!
Cheers
Just found this one...........

What model year car do you have Chris? If your picture is any guide you have a Phase 2 classic. If so (and on the assumption you're not electively replacing everything), the one thing your son will need to know that isn't always obvious from the videos and diagrams available is the procedure for correctly resetting the tensioner. See here for a thread that covers all the bases pretty well.

Hi Splitpin thanks for your reply!
Its a MY2000 Impreza Turbo UK car, last of the classics!
I have already got the tensioner, pullies, oil pump and waterpump - going belt and braces on this!
But any hints and tips are very very welcome!
Just looked at that link - excellent thanks!

And if i remember correctly you fit the belt anti-clockwise... Sometimes when its done it is usually out a tooth on the rhs as you look at engine, if it is, its start again and remember to push tensioner in very slowly..
