Exclamation STI BUG/BLOB/HAWK TMIC...!!!

Which can realise more power out of those 3 New Age TMIC's?

I'm assuming the Blob's and/or Hawk's?

If so, what are we talking? 400? 420? 450? What?

Can any of them be made to fit MY99/00 with a bit of fettling.... or is it a LOT of fettling? Presumably I'd need the matching undertray too?

All of them will drop into a classic!

2.0's more revvy
2.5's more low down torque

None will "realise" extra power and all have similar heat removal efficiency so long as they have a decent air feed with a good scoop and seal.
Bug and Blob are the same unit. The hawk is slightly smaller.
Some stories of them opening up above 1.5 bar.

If those power levels are what you want on a classic then go straight to a FMIC - they are so much cheaper these days.

Thanks.

Yeah, but aren't the Bug/Blob STi ones (thanks for pointing out they're the same - I thought so) good to flow 400-450bhp.

Reason I'm asking is I'm having to rethink a plan B (TMIC route)... Or plan C - see here, posts #15, 16 and 18:-

Hyperflow Winter Sales - TMIC - FMIC - SUMPS - AES - CAI - AST - EC - OCC – EOC

AFAIK theres not much difference between the newage interboilers, as long as it's STi you should be ok, dont think fitting is very straight forward though, its certainly not a two minute job, I seem to remember theres even welding to be done to make them fit although I could be wrong.

Yeah, the fitting side of things is annoying.

At least they go on a MY99/00 much easier than a <MY98, though...

My TMIC maxxed out at 411.5bhp on my 2002 STi.

Would it not be worth going FMIC in the long run?

lol Yeah it's at API now having mods fitted. But got a possible glitch - see posts #15, 16, 18:-

Hyperflow Winter Sales - TMIC - FMIC - SUMPS - AES - CAI - AST - EC - OCC – EOCl

Just keeping options open till I know whether I have the correct pipework - as otherwise, a quick 'get out of jail' fix will be needed...
