do the stage 2 sump kits only fit a 2.5? I have an Ej22t engined track build under way. Can this sump be used on this engine? Does it come fully baffled etc?

The stage 2 sump fits the 97 -07 Subaru WRX / STi and is fully baffled.

WRX/STi 97-07 High Capacity Alloy Race Sump Stage 2

The Hyperflow WRX Stage 2 racing sump is a semi dry sump (6L Capacity) which provides exceptional oil surge reduction for the Subaru WRX / STi. This innovative design allows us to control oil surge within the sump and has a stonger oil pick up strainer and supply tube incorporated, as well as a gating system. This concept utilises a series of chambers which reduces the longitudinal and lateral movement of the oil, reducing oil surge under high G force operation on and off the track.

Traditionally the oil pickup has been an engine component and the sump is fitted around the strainer, this is no different on the Subaru engine. This creates complications when it comes to controlling the oil surge due to cornering, acceleration and braking force, as there has to be a large hole in the top baffle to allow the sump to fit around the pickup.

To counter act this Hyperflow MY07 WRX Race Sump have developed a novel Semi Dry sump (majority of oil is stored separate to the engine) to provide exceptional oil surge reduction for the 2.5 l Subaru WRX. The innovation allowing us to control and minimize oil surge within the sump and has been the incorporation of the oil pickup strainer and supply tube as a part of the sump, combined with a one way gating system to control lateral and longitudinal oil surge. A patent has been applied for on the HyperFlow Race Sump for the WRX.

Not bought anything from Australia before - what else do you have to pay on top of the prices listed (import taxes/VAT?) and what sort of price is p+p?

Hyperflow are currently under development of a Stage 3 sump that will suit those customers whom have twin scroll headers, which unfortunately will not be completed for a while yet as it has to meet our oil surge requirements both in physical track testing and computer simulations along with being tested with multiple sets of popular aftermarket headers. These units will be a significant improvement over standard, however will not have the capacity and/or performance capabilities of either the Stage 1 sump or our top of the line Stage 2 due to quite a substantial decrease in oil volume to clear the headers.

The catch cans come in a full kit with hoses, fittings, screws and instructions. 01-05 Kit is as follows and 06/07 kit has extra parts to relocate the washer bottle filler neck. This is a 4 port kit and is designed specifically for the WRX/Sti and is a bolt on affair.

Wouldn't this all be easier by dropping UK supplier prices or having a group buy to share out the shipping cost?

Hyperflow

I could be in a bit of a dilemma...

My STi 5 is in at API for mods to be fitted. I've supplied them with a Hyperflow FMIC kit - 2nd hand off eBay - thought to be the MY97-00 one. But it looks like the pipework could be for a New Age!!! I'll only know when the technician offers it up after fitting turbo, injectors, etc. I should know tomorrow at some point.

Apparently, the core seems to fit in the space behind the bumper just fine. But if the pipework does indeed turn out to be that for the New Age, then I don't suppose you stock just the MY99/00 pipework and silicone joining hose sections as a kit on their own i.e. WITHOUT the IC core? And therefore help to get me out of a potential pickle?

Default Glad to help

We can arrange a kit for you if we have to, however if you can send a picture of your kit and pipes to alex@hyperflow.com.au I will be able to tell you if it is the correct one or not.

Hope you do have the correct set since it is already at the workshop.

This is true, it would be much cheaper to send multiple items rather than just one.

Here is an example or two...

To send 1 FMIC you are looking at around $400 - $450AUD or 2 FMIC for about $650AUD; a palette with 14 TMIC for around $900-$950AUD (140kg) equivalent to 5 FMIC in weight however may be more for the FMIC due to box size - area consumed in container. I would recommend getting 4 FMIC kits at a time if some one wanted to organise a group buy. Just contact me by sending an email to alex@hyperflow.com.au with orders in groups of 4 front mount intercooler kits - MY97-07WRX/STi and a delivery address.

John or I will work out exact shipping costs and can take payments from each individual if it is preferred, save the muck around + will give a discount on the overall price.

Kind Regards

Tell me about it!

In the meantime, I don't suppose you have instructions/illustrations for the MY99/00 kit, that you can email/PM me? It may help the mechanic to determine the pipes, etc...

I enquired about a few items earlier in the year but after finding out the postage costs it put me off a bit.
