Bug Eye electrics - big time problem
Folks, car electrics totally dead.
had a poor battery for a while and jump started at least once in last 4 months - obviously dont use the car much but its serviced and maintained well
went out on sat and the key fob wouldnt open the car. I thought it would be the fob batterys and changed them but still the same. put the old batterys back in and again no joy. I used the actual key to open the door and no fuel pump noise, no lights no nothing! I tried to jump start but again nothing. changed battery and again still no electrics at all - totally dead
anyone got any ideas im stuck! cheers

Have you changed the battery in the car as they don't like being discharged?
Best bet is to check all the earth points under the bonnet as the first point of call. Then the fuses under the bonnet and behind the tray on the dash,

Hi,
Maybe this will help... While I was working at a Subaru delaership, we were told to be very careful when jump starting a Subaru by the tech dept at IM (the importers).
They said a jump pack was best, as if cables are applied incorrectly it can cause fuses to blow, ECU to fry etc.
Not sure how true it was as they were useless half the time, but hey ho, may help you!

Sounds like you have no battery connection at all. check the earth connection to the body and gearbox. also the live connections into fuse box and the main fuses, A good easy check with some jump cables is to stick one end of the cable on the earth side of battery and the other end on the engine block some where( i find the lifting eye near the alternator to be good)> If you then have power you have an earth problem>
